Lugar a Dudas

Lugar a Dudas is an independent and nonprofit organization that promotes and distributes contemporary artistic creation since 2005, when it was founded by artist Oscar Muñoz Cali. In its origins it was based on the “laboratory” model because it was intended to facilitate the development of artistic practice and encourage reflection and interaction with the community.

It is constituted by 3 programs, which include activities designed and directed to research, critical thinking and production of content by means of contemporary artistic practices: a ‘Documentation Centre’ where seminars, workshops and seminars also take place, the ‘Exhibition Program’ that makes it possible to view the work of local and national artists and the ‘International Residency Program’, which enables an exchange network and a system of cultural relations at regional and international levels.

‘Lugar a dudas’ will carry out their at Taller Sitio, a space that will welcome them as guests during the MDE11. Its proposal is based on exhibits and activities that develop the idea of circulation and reproducibility. Here visitors will enjoy cinema and video, photography exhibitions, soundscapes, architecture and cuisine. Formats such as photocopies, videos and photographs will be used for reproduction, the same that function as ways of learning and make it possible to transmit and share knowledge.

Copies and reproductions are the basis of their proposal in the MDE11. They also construct circulation strategies of local production: archives, historical texts and images be used as the ideal medium for transmitting knowledge and sensory experiences.
