Taller central

The MDE11 exhibition will be named as a tribute after the Central Workshop of the Faculty of Arts of the Medellín site of the National University of Colombia. The Taller Central (Central Workshop) is an open academic system that, through open discussion with peers and teachers, seeks to promote and strengthen the work of the students that it has trained.

The bulk of this exhibition can be seen at the Museum of Antioquia, but it also includes several specific projects that are deployed in various parts of the city, including public spaces.

The artists’ proposals are structured around four pillars: Collective head: group work as a facilitator of the confluence of different kinds of knowledge; File folds: recovery, reorganization and circulation of images and concepts that give rise to political reflection; Teaching rhetoric: the use of teaching strategies and materials for querying hierarchies and conventions, and Multiple moments in time: recycling of memories and the collage of images of other times that enable a dialogue with the past and the future.
