Born in 1961 in Buenos Aires (Argentina), Eduardo Molinari is a public education professor of arts in that city since 1997, besides being a professor at the Instituto Universitario Nacional de Arte (Iuna) since 2000.
He walks as an aesthetic practice; and research using the artistic method and interdisciplinary collective action are the focus of his work. His work consists of drawings, collages, photographs, installations, interventions in public space, paintings, films and printed texts.
The Archivo Caminante/AC is one of his creations; it is a visual file in progress that explores the existent and imaginable relationships between art, history and politics. His work develops critical thinking of the dominant hegemonic historical narratives, especially the processes of “mummification” of social memory. The process of history “mummification”, says Molinari, involves hiding more than one trick up your sleeve!
His participation in the MDE11 is related to ‘El Camaleón (‘The Chameleon’), a proposal that consists of installation, collages, photographs and a printed publication. This is a space for illusion in which the public comes into contact with images, a place reminiscent of scenarios designed for magic: a showcase and a red curtain that are a delectable invitation.
Attendees will be presented with a visual archive that presents the documents of some of the tricks with which we live in our contemporary lives within “semiocapitalism.” Tricks that are intended to camouflage the tracks and traces that have affected our daily lives caused by war machines, economic, political and cultural dominance, together with their agents.
Four “magical processes” organize the constellation of documents, along with their specific goals and consequences: invisible, hide, disguise and levitate.
